1
Moshi/Arusha - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, your safari guide will pick you up and drive to Tarangire National Park - a 2 hour drive from Arusha, 3.5 hours from Moshi. The rest of the day will be spent game viewing. Undoubtedly, you will see why Tarangire is known as an "Elephants' Playground". Along with the numerous elephants, many giraffes, lions, wildebeests, buffaloes, various antelopes, leopards, warthogs, zebras, pythons, monkeys, baboons, hyenas, among other animals may be seen. There will be a break for a picnic-style lunch inside the park. In the late afternoon, you will be taken to your campsite/tented camp/lodge inside the park for relaxation, dinner, and overnight rest.
2
Tarangire National Park
A full day to divide as you wish between game drives and enjoying your accommodation. There is an option for an early morning balloon safari (extra fee, advance reservation required). You can choose your lunch to be at the accommodation dining room, or a picnic-style lunch served during game viewing. Be the evening you will be returned back to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight rest.
3
Tarangire - Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast at your accommodation, you will have a short game drive while exiting the park and proceeding to Lake Manyara National Park. This is not a long or difficult ride. Most likely before reaching the park gate at Lake Manyara you will be greeted by troups of baboons along the roadside or blocking the road. Inside the park you will be in the preferred park for bird-watchers with over 400 species present. You do not need to be a birding expert to be fascinated by the flamingoes, storks, pelicans at the lake and the ostriches in the plains. Two-thirds of this park is covered by Lake Manyara itself, a shallow alkaline lake. During the game viewing you will break for a picnic-style lunch inside the park. In the late afternoon you will exit the park and head to your campsite/lodge/tented camp for the evening. Note that for logistic reasons, your overnight will not be spent inside of a wildlife area.
4
Hadzabe & Datoga Tribe Tour
Early morning drive to Lake Eyasi, you’ll get the chance to visit the bushmen tribe of Datoga and Hadzabe and learn about their culture and way of life. A tour will give you the opportunity to go along on a hunt and experience their great hunting skills with arrows and bows, as well as enjoy some singing and dancing ceremonies. After lunch, you will be driven back to the same accommodation as the previous night for relaxation, dinner, and overnight rest.
5
Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we travel west, before long entering Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) - but not into the crater. Reaching the far end of the NCA we will pause for a lunch break and cross into the famous Serengeti National Park. No reason to ask why it is so famous, as you will soon experience for yourself why it is considered to top safari destination in the world. You will have a game drive until late afternoon after which you will be taken to your campsite/tented camp/lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight rest.
6
Serengeti National Park
You have a full day to enjoy being inside the Serengeti. You have the option of an early morning balloon safari (extra fee and advance reservation required). You can divide the day as you please between game drives and enjoying your accommodation. Lunch will be your choice of being served at the accommodation or as a picnic-style lunch during a game drive. By evening you will be back at your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight rest.
7
Serengeti - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast at your accommodation, we have some game viewing as we work our way east, exiting the Serengeti and returning back inside the NCA. While driving in the NCA, there is an option for a side trip (extra fee) either visiting a Maasai village or Olduvai Gorge Museum - an important paleoanthropological site. You will be taken to your campsite/lodge/tented camp located near the rim of Ngorongoro Crater for relaxation, dinner, and overnight rest. Note: Above the crater can be quite windy and chilly. Be sure to have an extra layer of clothes ready. Even a knit cap and light gloves might be comfortable.
8
Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport/Moshi
After an early breakfast, you will be driven down a steep and winding road, descending 600m (2000ft) to the floor of Ngorongoro Crater. This World Heritage Site is one of the top safari destinations due to the high concentration of animals and the wide variety present. It is one of the few destinations where it might be possible to spot all of the "Big Five" - rhino, elephant, buffalo, lion, and leopard. All African plains animals are present here except for giraffes and oryx (a large antelope). Lunch will be at a designated picnic spot near a small lake frequented by hippos, flamingoes, storks, and pelicans. The crater is not very large, just 20km in diameter so after 4 -5 hours all will be seen. At that point, we ascend out and drive to Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport/Moshi for the end of the itinerary. The pricing of this itinerary will not include dinner or accommodation for this day.
